Q: Why do we swing our arms while walking?

A: In experiments with robots and human volunteers it was found that when the arms swing naturally, the effort put in walking is 10 to 12 per cent less than when the arms are kept steady at the side.
So the arms swing to minimize effort of walking.

Q: What is the white cream that cricketers put on their faces?

A: Some cricketers, especially the Aussies and Kiwis smear zinc oxide or titanium dioxide cream on their faces. The cream is used to protect sensitive parts of the face from the harmful effects of strong, direct sunlight. Besides cricketers, other sportspeople like skiers, surfers and tennis players also use these creams.
